HYDERABAD: With an avian influenza scare prevailing, the State government has directed District Collectors across the State to convene district-level meetings involving officials from forest, police, health, veterinary and animal husbandry departments to discuss measures to be adopted to prevent the spread of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). Special Chief Secretary Sabyasachi Ghosh issued orders to this effect. In the orders, it is said that HPAI was being reported in other States.
